If you are monitoring a camera grid and one or more streams suddenly freeze, restart, or stop updating, follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue.
Before You Start
Refresh the page and check if the issue persists.
Reduce the number of cameras in your grid (e.g., from 4x4 to 2x2) and observe if the problem continues. Fewer streams means less load — if the issue disappears, bandwidth is likely the cause.
Step 1 — Isolate the failing camera
Identify which camera or cameras are having the issue.
Navigate to the Devices page and check the camera's status — confirm it shows as online.
Open the camera individually and play the stream alone to test if the issue persists outside of grid view.
Step 2 — Camera still fails when played alone
If the stream freezes or restarts even in single view, the issue is with the camera or its connection — not the grid.
Check if other cameras at the same site are also failing. If yes, the problem may be site-level (network, relay, or on-prem hardware).
Try opening the stream in a different browser or an incognito window to rule out browser memory issues.
If the issue continues, contact your administrator or Corvid support with the camera name, site, and the time the issue started.
Step 3 — Camera plays correctly alone
If the stream works fine individually but fails in the grid, it is a bandwidth or resource issue.
Bandwidth — Lower the camera's channel bandwidth, resolution, or frame rate from the Devices settings to reduce stream load. Start with resolution first, then frame rate.
Too many simultaneous streams — Try a smaller grid layout and gradually add cameras back to find your stable limit.
Cloud resource issue — If the problem persists after reducing load, support can check memory management and resource allocation for the cloud streaming services.
