Camera video not started after changing Gateway device

A quick troubleshooting guide for camera video not starting after a gateway change — covering network/IP checks and channel-profile matching.

If a camera's video doesn't start after changing its gateway, follow this guide to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Before changing the gateway

It's recommended to check in advance that the camera is accessible from the new gateway you want to migrate it to. This helps avoid connectivity issues once the change has been made.

After changing the gateway

If the camera's video doesn't start after completing the change, follow these steps:

1. Check the camera's network

Verify that the camera is still on the same network as the new gateway. If it isn't, you may need to update the IP address the camera was originally configured with.

2. Check the channel and profiles

If the network is correct, check whether the channel the camera was originally added with matches one of the profiles available on the camera.

  • If the channel does not match any existing profile:

    1. Click the download button located in the URL field.

    2. Once the profiles are downloaded, select one from the list that appears.

Quick checklist

  • Confirmed camera is accessible from the new gateway (before switching)

  • Camera is on the same network as the new gateway

  • IP address updated, if needed

  • Channel matches an existing profile

  • If not, downloaded and selected a valid profile from the list
