Overview
Organization admins can enable a setting that requires users to provide a documented reason before accessing a Live Stream view. This setting is independent of the existing plate search reason requirement — you can require reasons for Live Stream without requiring them for plate searches, and vice versa.
How to Enable the Live Stream Search Reason Requirement
Go to Manage Organization → Settings.
Under LPR Settings, find Require Search Reason for Live Stream.
Toggle the setting on.
Click Save.
What Users Experience When This Is Enabled
Before opening a Live Stream view, users are prompted to select a reason from the organization’s configured search reason list.
The selected reason is recorded in the Audit Log alongside the Live Stream access event.
Live Stream access is blocked until a reason is provided.
How This Relates to the Plate Search Reason Setting
Corvid has two separate search reason toggles under LPR Settings:
Require Search Reason — applies to plate searches (LPR search flows).
Require Search Reason for Live Stream — applies to Live Stream access specifically.
Enabling one does not automatically enable the other. Configure each independently based on your organization’s compliance requirements.

Only organization Owners or users with the organizations update permission can change this setting.
