Overview
Suppressions let you reduce alarm noise by telling Corvid to stop generating alerts for situations you already know about. A common example is suppressing alerts for a vehicle that belongs to your organization but would otherwise trigger a hotlist match.
What You Can Suppress
• Specific License Plates — Mute alerts for a known vehicle (e.g., a company car, delivery vehicle, or employee plate).
• Camera-specific Rules — Suppress alerts from a specific camera during scheduled maintenance or calibration.
• Time-based Windows — Apply suppressions only during a defined time range.
Suppression Types
Permanent — The rule stays active until manually removed.
Scheduled — Active only during defined time windows.
Temporary — Active for a fixed duration, then automatically expires.
Common Use Cases
• Suppressing alerts for fleet vehicles that frequently pass monitored cameras.
• Muting a camera during a firmware update to avoid false offline alarms.
• Reducing noise during a special event with high-volume traffic at a monitored site.
How to Use It
1. Navigate to Suppressions from the sidebar.
2. Click New Suppression and choose the suppression type.
3. Enter the license plate, select the camera, or define the condition to suppress.
4. Set the duration or schedule if applicable.
5. Save the rule. Active suppressions will immediately begin filtering matching alerts.
6. Review and remove suppressions when they are no longer needed.
