Overview
Corvid supports SD Card, SD Sync, and NVR as recording sources alongside cloud. You can filter cameras by recording destination, check SD card status, create clips from SD-sourced and NVR footage, and play back recordings with full shared playback controls.
Filter cameras by recording destination
1. Go to the Cameras view from the main navigation.
2. Open the filter options and locate the Recording Destination filter.
3. Select one or more options: Cloud, SD, Both, or None.
4. The camera list updates to show only cameras matching your selection.
Check SD card recording status
Hover over the recording indicator on a camera card to see a tooltip showing the SD card recording status. This lets you quickly confirm whether a camera is actively recording to its SD card without opening the camera details.
Create a clip from SD Card, SD Sync, or NVR footage
1. Open the camera or event detail view.
2. Click Create Clip.
3. In the source selector, choose SD Card, SD Sync, or NVR as the source.
4. Select the time range and confirm to create the clip.
Clips created from SD Sync are recorded with the remote_sync source, which is visible in the clip details and in the API.
SD Sync and NVR playback
Playback for SD Sync and NVR recordings now uses a WebSocket-based stream with fully shared playback controls:
Progress bar — Scrub through the recording timeline.
Play / Pause — Start and stop playback.
Playback rate — Adjust speed (e.g. 0.5×, 1×, 2×) to review footage faster or slower.
These controls work consistently across all stream sources — cloud, SD Sync, and NVR.
Cloud sync availability on SD Cards
The Cloud Sync toggle on the SD Cards view is only shown for cameras that support remote sync. For cameras without remote sync support, Corvid uses the NVR map instead of the SD Sync timeline. This is determined automatically by the camera's capabilities — no configuration is required.
Note: SD Card, SD Sync, and NVR availability depends on the camera model and configuration. Cameras without SD or NVR support will not show those options.
