Overview
Motion events in Corvid now include inline video playback. When you open a motion event in the overlay, you can play the associated footage without navigating away from your search results or investigation.
Playing a motion event clip
Open Search from the left navigation.
Run a search that returns motion events.
Click on any motion event row to expand the event overlay.
In the overlay, click the Play button on the video thumbnail to start playback.
Use the standard player controls (play/pause, seek, volume) to review the footage.
Unavailable footage state
If a motion clip falls outside your organization's video retention window, the player will show an Unavailable indicator instead of playable footage.
This happens when:
The event is older than your tenant's configured retention period.
The associated footage was not stored or has been pruned from storage.
If you need access to footage beyond your current retention window, contact your system administrator to review your storage settings.
